San Rafael, California — A recent human trafficking enforcement operation in Marin County resulted in the arrest of a man accused of attempting to meet a minor for sex while also leading to the rescue of two individuals believed to be trafficking victims.

San Rafael Operation Results in Arrest and Victim Recovery
According to the San Rafael Police Department, a 31-year-old man from San Leandro allegedly communicated online with undercover detectives posing as a 15-year-old and arranged to meet the minor at a hotel in San Rafael.
When he arrived at the agreed location, officers took him into custody. Authorities reported that he was booked into the Marin County Jail on felony charges related to contacting and arranging to meet a minor for sexual purposes.
During the same enforcement effort, investigators posing as commercial sex buyers identified two adult women believed to be victims of human trafficking. The women were removed from the situation and connected with advocacy organizations, emergency shelter, counseling, and other support services.
