Baldwin Park, California — A 23-year-old Filipino American has been arrested in connection with the stabbing deaths of three family members, including two children, in Baldwin Park, California, the day after Christmas. Authorities confirmed the arrest on Friday.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner identified the victims as 8-year-old Mia Chantelle Narvaez, 16-year-old Paul Sebastian Manangan, and 44-year-old Rona Nate. According to neighbors, the family had recently moved from the Philippines.
The Baldwin Park Police Department responded to a distress call at 6:48 p.m. on Thursday, December 26, at a residence on Bogart Avenue. Officers found the victims, who had sustained multiple stab wounds and were declared dead at the scene.
A neighbor reported hearing a girl screaming for help, saying, “Someone call 911. My brother stabbed my mom in the back.” Another neighbor described hearing loud noises, followed by a man’s scream and a loud crash.
