Burbank, California — The family of Sharon Santos, a Filipino-American woman found murdered nearly 20 years ago, is urging authorities to reopen her cold case. Santos, 31, went missing in September 2004 after finishing her shift as an analyst at Warner Brothers in Burbank. Her body was later discovered in the trunk of her car in Chinatown.
On the 20th anniversary of her death, family and friends gathered to honor her life and continue their call for justice. Sandra Santos, Sharon’s sister, shared how her sister’s presence remains deeply felt, describing her as adventurous, free-spirited, and full of life. “That was Sharon,” Sandra said.
In an effort to reignite the investigation, the Santos family launched the “SHARE” initiative, named after Sharon, which stands for Support, Honor, Advocate, Raise Awareness, and Engage. The family also created social media pages to raise awareness about the case.
“For 20 years, we’ve waited for answers, for accountability, for justice,” Sandra added. “We know that the time to act is now.“
Family members are hopeful that new technology will help solve the case. They are in contact with Burbank police, who have agreed to re-evaluate the investigation. The Santos family remains determined to push for justice, believing that public pressure can make a difference.
Our hearts go out to them, and we hope they receive the answers they have long awaited. Sending gratitude and well wishes this Thanksgiving. We are thankful for the community’s support.
