Alameda, California — A Filipino American teenager was attacked during an AAU basketball game in Alameda, California, over the weekend, sparking outrage within the Fil-Am community.
During an inbounds play, a Fil-Am teen from Tumakbo United Basketball was knocked to the ground by an opposing player from Payton’s Place. Amid the chaos, another player from Payton’s Place stomped on the fallen teen’s head before officials could intervene.
The incident has led to significant concern and anger, particularly within the Filipino American community. The teenager’s parents have filed a police report, and authorities have launched an investigation.
