Apple Valley, California – A reported sexual assault involving an in-home caregiver and an adult with cognitive disabilities has prompted an investigation in San Bernardino County. Apple Valley Authorities Investigate Reported Sexual Assault Case
On July 23, San Bernardino County deputies responded to a residence on Crow Road after reports of suspected abuse involving an adult with cognitive disabilities. Investigators identified the caregiver as 55-year-old Howard Parker of Apple Valley, who had been providing in-home care to the alleged victim.
Following the investigation, authorities arrested Parker on multiple charges, including rape, sodomy, elder abuse, and sexual penetration of a person allegedly unable to provide legal consent. He remains in custody on $80,000 bail.
Detectives have also released his booking photograph while asking anyone with relevant information or who believes they may have been affected to contact the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station or submit anonymous tips through WeTip.
