Fil-Am Festival Celebrates Filipino Heritage in Newhall
The Fil-Am Association of Santa Clarita Valley hosted its annual Fil-Am Festival on October 3, 2026, at the Newhall Community Center, drawing families and visitors for cultural activities, food, music, and community engagement.
Attendees explored vendor booths, participated in activities such as Zumba, and viewed displays featuring Jeepneys, a familiar symbol of public transportation in the Philippines.
Among the participating organizations was JollyBox Global, a nonprofit that supports education and community projects in the Philippines through the sale of handcrafted goods.
The celebration also reflected the growth of the Fil-Am Association, which was established in 1984. Organizers and longtime members highlighted the group’s expanding involvement in cultural preservation, scholarships, civic activities, volunteer programs, and outreach throughout Santa Clarita.
