Airman 1st Class Cedric Eneluna, 23, died on July 16, 2026, after the heavy equipment he was operating rolled down an embankment at Vandenberg Space Force Base near Lompoc. The Santa Barbara County Coroner’s Office pronounced him dead at the scene, and no other personnel were injured.
Officials said a Safety Investigation Board is examining the circumstances, and the exact cause of death remains undetermined. The Filipino American airman served with the Pavements and Equipment Flight of the 30th Civil Engineer Squadron.
Born in the Philippines and later based in St. Louis, Eneluna enlisted in March 2024. Base leaders remembered him for his professionalism, positive attitude, strong work ethic, and care for his teammates.
