Filipino American Friendship Monument: 3-Year Milestone

Glendale, California — The Filipino American Business Association of Glendale (FABAG-GLAC) commemorated the third anniversary of the Filipino American Friendship Monument on April 14, 2025, celebrating its role as a symbol of unity and shared heritage.

The gathering at the monument near the Glendale Adult Recreation Center united FABAG-GLAC members, community advocates, donors, and local dignitaries. Attendees, including Glendale Mayor Elen Asatryan and Councilmember Daniel Brotman, acknowledged the vision and collaborative efforts that led to the monument’s establishment and its lasting significance.

The monument, constructed in 2022, recognizes Filipino Americans’ significant contributions to Glendale’s civic, business, and cultural life. It is a testament to the years of dedication by FABAG-GLAC and its supporters. The late Past President Ruby De Vera spearheaded the initiative, securing city approval and community backing.

Featuring iconic symbols of Filipino heritage, the monument embodies friendship, unity, and cultural pride, serving as a focal point for community events and reflection. The anniversary celebration also honored De Vera’s pivotal role and expressed gratitude to all who supported the monument’s realization. FABAG-GLAC reaffirmed its commitment to cultural preservation and community engagement.
